KACHINA MASK SERIES
By
Licha Ochoa Nicholson
Excerpt by James Burns, 2007
Always mesmerized by masks in general because they cover the face, Ochoa is also interested in the relationship to her family history, much of which is covered up, and which she has been unable to unveil.
Intensely curious about her lineage, Ochoa senses something unidentifiable, something secretive, about her family history. She feels the beauty and richness of her culture has been masked, as has the colorful background of her family.
